Today I’m here to help celebrate the birth of Beth, the fashionable maven behind this blog Stylish Styling’s. While many of you might not know her personally, I have the pleasure of not only knowing the blond bombshell but also get to call her one of my best friends, sorority and pledge sister. Let me introduce myself, I’m Joanne and I blog over a Fabulously Average – a life and personal style blog. I actually started blogging because of Beth. When she started Stylish Styling’s many moons ago, I didn’t even know what a blog was. After following along and reading this here blog religiously Beth convinced me to take the plunge and encouraged me to start my own blog. I’ve never really had the chance to thank her; so a very special thank you Beth, for being that push I needed!
I’m honored and proud to say that Beth is one of my real life style icons. Her style is uncontrived and effortless and she’s always been classy but don’t get me wrong- she owned her share of valore suites! Back in college when everyone was wearing tee shirts and jeans, Beth would be sporting a trendy number with her version of an arm party before the arm party was even sending out invites! Because of her obsession with fashion and anything sparkly, I too wanted to express myself through my own personal style. Eight years later, whenever I know I’ll be in town and meeting up with one of the other members of the triple threat, I know I can go all out and don on a no holds bar outfit because Beth will be doing the same thing!
Happy birthday Beth! Thanks for still being my friend after I wore those paint splattered jeans with the lace, for sticking with me during that awkward grow-out phase from the pixie cut and for not making fun of me when I would pair that “JOE” hat with everything our sophomore year. Always remember hakuna matata night, the countless nights downstairs at the Phi Sig house Harlem shaking in the basement, that epic night at the Mansion and all the boys in between! I love you, I miss you and I want to wish a very happy and fabulous birthday! Here’s to many more!
Feel free to stop by Fabulously Average and say hi! You can also find me on Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook! Thanks for having me Beth!
